The Embassy of France in Myanmar launches a new programme in support to Myanmar civil society organizations (CSOs).
A call is therefore open for innovative and multi-actors based proposals in the two following areas:
1. Participatory socio-economic development in Yangon and Mandalay:
A preference will be given to initiatives piloting social, environmental and cultural innovations in order to make the city a better place to live; promoting civic engagement/education and solidarity; fostering public information and involvement in decision-making processes; sensitizing public authorities on key-problems and promoting networking and consultative mechanisms.
2. Community dialogue and inclusive socio-economic development in isolated regions:
Attention will be given to proposals focusing on community resilience strengthening; intercommunity dialogue and the promotion of a culture of tolerance and peace; employment opportunities and skills development; access to basic social services.
For both of these broad areas, a particular attention will be given to the inclusiveness of the proposed interventions, especially on how they address gender concerns and the needs of specific vulnerable or marginalized groups. The Embassy of France also encourages projects having the potential to forge partnerships with other stakeholders which could be other civil society organisations or networks, the private sector, the local public authorities and / or other donors.
Grants will range from 15 000 to 60 000 euros. The contribution from France should not exceed 70 % of the overall budget of the proposal.
How to proceed ?
Interested organisations should send a 2 to 3 pages concept note outlining :
The organisation’s name, main purpose and field(s) of work;
A description of the problem(s) the organization wishes to address;
An initial analysis about the strategy, approach and options that would guide the project;
Information on stakeholders and potential partners for the proposed intervention (other CSOs, networks, private sector, INGOs, public authorities, other donors…);
A preliminary estimate of the total budget.
The deadline for submitting concept notes is 15 July 2017. The concept notes should be sent to:
Mrs Jeanne Berger (Jeanne.berger@diplomatie.gouv.fr) and
Mr Philippe Devaud (philippe1.devaud@diplomatie.gouv.fr)
The Concept notes will be reviewed by the Embassy from 15 to 30 July 2017 and the preselected CSOs will be requested to develop a full - yet not exceeding 15 pages - project document including a detailed budget. The selection committee will be held in the first half of September 2017.
