22nd European Film Festival in Yangon from September 12 to September 22
The Embassy of France is organizing the 22nd European Film Festival from September 12 to September 22 in collaboration with the Embassies of Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Poland and Switzerland, with the kind support of the Delegation of the European Union for Myanmar.
Films about friendship, forgiveness, social and environmental issues, love, sport or music will be screened during ten days giving an insight into European ways of life and thought to the Myanmar audience. As in the previous editions, this year’s festival aims to show the diversity of the European cultural wealth presenting documentaries, animated films and fictions. But the European Film Festival renews itself by welcoming new countries such as Czech Republic, Israel and Poland to be part of the event. Supported by the European Film Festival, the Wathann Film Festival (September 4-8) – the first film festival of Myanmar films by Myanmar filmmakers, for Myanmar filmmakers – will present a selection of short films before each screening. An additional way of forging cultural links between Europe and Myanmar.
